new year, same morning routine….

new years puzzle
spent new years day working on a puzzle i got for christmas 🙂 the puzzle has bigger pieces than im used to working with and between the piece shape and the awesome coloring on the puzzle, its been more difficult than i thought it would be 🙂 love me some puzzles!

irksome parking
really hate it when people park in the yellow lined corner of the parking garage….i dont care if its to “protect” their car….when you park like this and prevent others from parking in a spot next to or near you, its a jack move!

turkey?
What do you see in the picture below? i know (after a second, closer, look) that it is a person holding a loaf of “fresh” bread; however, in passing and very quick glance it looked to me like a cooked turkey. am i crazy? does anyone else see the resemblance?

spaghetti /sauce/ night
James doesnt understand how i can call this spaghetti night, when i dont have spaghetti noodles (i eat spaghetti sauce over veggies and sometimes sweet potatoes), so im now calling it spaghetti /sauce/ night (with emphasis on the “sauce”). it turned out awesome awesome! best spaghetti ive made in a long time! and it was paleo/whole30 compliant 🙂

spilled lunch
Someone (not me!) spilled his or her lunch in the elevator, then just left it there 🙁 kinda gross looking really. and yes, i did have to take a picture of it!

Hornets game
My friend Rufus came to visit us this weekend and we took him to see his New Orleans Hornets play the Grizzlies. Of course we did all kinds of other stuff too – mall (to get him a Hornets hat, which ended up being a Charlotte Hornets hat, woot!), bookstore, comic book store, dinner, and playstation stuffs….oh, and introducing him to new TV shows 🙂 Glad he was able to come visit! James and I really really enjoyed it and hope he can come up to Memphis again soon!

shower sentinel
Every time i take a shower or am in the bathroom brushing my teeth or getting laundry together, spike gets up on the box in the corner and sits much like he is in this picture and waits. Actually, most of the time he gets up on the box and he whines at me 🙂 Evidently he thinks he doesnt get enough attention :-/

night out with friends
First time in a long time james and i were able to go out with two of our friends (Kevin and Rachael) here in town. They have two little ones now, so they dont have much time/ability to get out and about on friday nights 🙂 We went to dinner then out to watch the Grizzlies’ game (and have a couple beers). So glad we got to spend time with them!
