i got a camelbak from woot a few weeks ago and im looking forward to trying it out during marathon training. hopefully its not too heavy or inconvenient to run with.

this is the view from our room in new orleans. we really lucked out on the hotel. i picked the hotel before they posted the race route, so i wasnt sure how close or far it would be. turned out to be 3 blocks from mile 8 on the half marathon route which was fantastic! mom and aunt jane valet parked their car at the hotel and walked with james to the course to see me run. we all had an adventure on the shuttle from the finish line, but all in all not too bad!

its not coffee call, but not a bad way to spend a night in new orleans! we went to cafe du monde saturday night while we were walking around. i had a great time just seeing the sites.
too bad we had to come back to memphis today.

its all about the bling!

everyone knows its all about the bling! the mardi gras half marathon was today in new orleans. it was a nice flat course, sucky water station and toilet support though! and i was so excited to have mom, aunt jane and james there at mile 8 for support! itll be fun to run it again next year! i cant seem to finish a half in under 2:30, but at least im finishing! imma have to add some serious speed work this summer during marathon training.

dad has made me pancakes before my st jude races, so we decided to try something different this weekend. mom made me WAFFLES! i love momma’s waffles too. they were great before the race with peanut butter on them! thanks ma!

so, im trying to stop cussing as much as part of my lent sacrifices…every time i do i have to pay five cents. i looked for a soup bowl at church the other day, but couldnt find one, so i made my own at work the other day. 🙂
